So, one of my good intentions was to throw some new creations into my shop. We have a work space, all things are unpacked, things are organized and so there’s not much excuses to further procrastinate. And funny thing is: I picked up my inspiration where I left it, combining Amber with black.
Have you ever studied colors? See how they work together, what are the opposites, which color matches with what other colors? Here’s a nice article on Basic Color Theory to get you started in case you’re interested.
In any case, I always liked the opposite colors. I’m not so much into soft pastels, pinks or purples (although deep purple amethyst is great!). I like the primary colors. Black goes with everything, and I like combining amber with black. The butterscotch works great, you get the vivid yellow/black, but also the classic cognac most people associate with amber works really well. And lots of times, when I am looking around in my magic box full off precious stones to get inspiration I grab black. Hematite, Lava, Shell, Onyx, and also amber so dark it is nearly black, I used them all.
The latest bracelet in my shop is Lava and classic cognac, below are other combinations, I was surprised myself how often the combo showed up, you cannot go wrong with black, it really goes with everything. So combining amber with black is an easy way out when trying to get an idea. You will not fail.
